2019 Elections for Ponsonby Herne Bay Pastoral Council
Would you like to join our Pastoral Council?
Our aims for 2019 are to strengthen Children’s Liturgy, youth involvement, pastoral care of the elderly, and boost hospitality/social.
We will hold our elections before Easter and would like eight councillors.
Our Samoan and Tongan communities will appoint a representative each, as will the finance committee, and of course Fr Rory will be an essential guiding light. If you would like to join please talk to Fr Rory or Eddie.
The Ponsonby Herne Bay Parish was created in December 2017 when the separate parishes of Sacred Heart, Ponsonby and Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Herne Bay were melded.
Herne Bay’s parish priest of 15 years, Fr Rory Morrissey, is the parish priest and he attends to each church. He is assisted by parish co-ordinator Eddie Eyre, part-time administrators in each church centre, a finance team, pastoral team, and administration team.
There is further assistance for Masses from priests and students at the nearby Holy Cross Seminary, the neighbouring John Vianney Home for retired priests and priests who live in the area.
